One picture is me standing next to my Gun Director.  That director had a MK 25, mod 3, radar, good for tracking out to about 100,000 yards.  It controlled the main battery of twin mount 5 inch guns.  Both Knox pictures were from about 1956.  I was on the Knox for nearly three years.   Stan Buck

Long time friends Joe Dempsky and Hawk Sims in 1963-64 and during a recent reunion.  Both served on the ship when Frank Knox was part of the Concord Squadron.  The Concord Squadron tour went to Iran before the Iranian Revolution.  Following that stop the Squadron was ordered to the Singapore Straits to reopen the Straits after the head of the Indonesian
Government had orders the straits closed to US shipping.
